Missions & Service

Please join us for a deputation service on Sunday, May 14th, at 10:30 a.m. Lucas & Caroline Neves, missionaries from Brazil, will be sharing their hearts with us.
Want to get to know our missionaries better? We are looking for a home to host them for Sunday supper. Interested, see Glenda Laney or call the church office.

Clear Lake Nazarene is always looking for ways to be Jesus to our community.

Our local Nazarene Missions International council is teaming up with Ani’s Pantry, which is an independent ministry started by a local couple who felt lead by the Lord to minister to the homeless people of Galveston County. We will be sharing more with you soon about how YOU can be involved in this important ministry.

Each Christmas, we partner with Angel Tree Ministries to give gifts to children of prisoners.

We’re a satellite of an organization called Kids Against Hunger and we’re preparing, funding and shipping thousands of meals to be used by people who are starving all over the world.

outreachWe’ve worked with Houston’s Star of Hope and the Houston Food Bank  and are working with other local ministries and organizations all the time!

And we’re just really getting started!  Look here for more exciting opportunities to do big things for the Kingdom in the Houston area.

The Half Million Mobilization

WhoWhatWhenWhy of the HalfMillion Mobilization

Who: Short answer is Everyone! The entire Nazarene Church, 500,000 people in the United States and Canada will rally together in prayer for our churches hope and our future (Jeremiah 29:11)

What: A Call to Pray and a Call to Speak for the future of our denomination and our local churches in
Canada and the United States. Pray for the protection, direction, and revelation of the Spirit on our
ministries together. Our prayer is to see renewal and a resurgence of the Nazarene Church and holiness
message in our people. The Call to Speak is a prayer response/survey to gather feedback on what the Spirit says to the church during this time of prayer.

When: There is a designated day of prayer each month beginning in January and continuing through Sunday, May 1st where the entire church will pray together in our morning services.

January 11th 50 senior most regional leaders

February 1st 500 leaders across every District

March 1st 5,000 local church lead pastors

April Board Meetings 50,000 local church boards and ministry leaders

May 1st the entire Church of the Nazarene, 500,000 people praying together in USA/Canada. From May 1st through Pentecost (June 5th ) there will be a daily time of prayer using a Praying Our Way to Pentecost prayer journal. The prayer journal is available online and in print. Plan to follow along and anticipate a great out pouring of the Spirit during this season.

Why: We need God’s plan, God’s purpose to be fulfilled in our lives and in our churches.

The disunity in our culture and the decline in our Nazarene ministries must be abated. We must turn to God for His leading, we must seek His will in prayer together. This time of prayer will be unifying for us as a region. God says when we seek after Him with all our hearts, He will be found. (Jeremiah 29:13) The dream with HalfMillion Mobilization is that we will experience unity as a region, we will hear from the Spirit in our times of prayer, we will share with each other what the Spirit is saying, and that we will discover His plans for our hope and future.

Prayer Response / Survey

The Call to Speak is a prayer response / survey meant to be taken one or more times after you hear from the Spirit in your time of prayer. This can be from a designated day of prayer or anytime the Lord calls you to prayer and speaks to you about the future of the church. The prayer response is short and can be completed in 5 minutes. There is one openended question where you can respond with what the Spirit is saying to you. There are two closedended questions where you can rank and prioritize our ministry focus areas. Prayer response survey.

Local Missions Policy:

The Clear Lake Church of the Nazarene Facilities Committee Members and other CLCN church members who enjoy working on home improvement projects may from time to time take on local missions work to support and help local CLCN members who need help to maintain their quality of living in their home by working on home-maintenance projects.

(Ephesians 2:10 – For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.)

(James 1:27 – Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.)

This policy is established to regulate the use of the NMI Missions budget for Local Missions to assure it is utilized as intended and that the projects undertaken are within the limits set by this policy. Expenditures from the NMI budget must be pre-approved by the NMI President.

  1. The work to be undertaken must be limited to persons who own the home to be worked on.

  2. CLCN local missions volunteers are not in the contracting business and accept no liability and provide no warranty or guarantees for the work performed.

  3. Persons eligible for local missions services are limited to those who

    1. Have limitations of experience in performing the work needed or

    2. Have health limitations that prevent them from performing the work themselves or

    3. Have financial limitations that prevent them from getting the work done or

    4. Have physical limitations that prevent them from performing the work safely themselves.

  4. The work needs to be more than just a cosmetic improvement. It needs to be important for the health or safety of the occupant(s), to maintain the quality of life of the occupant(s), or for the preservation of the property.

  5. If possible, the owner is to purchase and select supplies.

  6. CLCN local missions supply time and labor at no cost to the persons being served.

  7. Donations for services are accepted at CLCN and should be noted NMI – Local Missions, but help is not dependent upon giving.
